Saving Water: Inside A Tucson Love Story
In 2008, with community support and feedback, Mayor and Council voted to launch a conservation program funded by a dedicated fee paid monthly by all water customers. This conservation program has evolved with the community, the environment, sustainability challenges, and Tucson Water. Between 2008 to 2021, we’ve saved 3.9 million gallons of water and achieved so much more with conservation!

Conservation Tip: Gray Water - Get Connected!
Adding to the 2022 list of how to save water is GRAY WATER. Connecting a gray water system allows you to recycle water that has already been used in your house for outdoor watering. This conserves water and reduces your water bill! Tucson water offers classes and rebates that can further your understanding and accessibility to these systems.

Stop WishCycling
“WishCycling” is placing iffy items in a blue recycling bin and hoping those items are recyclable and won’t cause system breakdowns or endanger employees! Quit WishCycling:
• Plastic film/plastic bags • Garden hoses • Small items less than 3” in diameter
Recycle these sure things: paper, plastic containers, metal containers, and cardboard.
