PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT COLLECTING PUBLIC INPUT FOR ITS 2024 VISION - The City of Tucson's Planning and Development Services Department (PDSD) is currently completing its Vision 2024 project. A key part of this project involves collecting input from PDSD customers. A website has been created by Social Pinpoint to collect that public input. This site includes a survey and an idea wall to collect input on current challenges, opportunities, and improvements for a vision for PDSD. The site will be updated as the project progresses. TUCSON PARKS AND RECREATION TO OPEN REGISTRATION FOR CLASSES DEC. 6 - Tucson Parks and Recreation is offering a full array of indoor leisure classes this winter and spring of 2022. Classes range from arts and crafts, Little Movers and Shakers, dance, gymnastics, jewelry making, music, and more for youth and adults. Classes are viewable online now and registration will open on Monday, Dec. 6, at 8 a.m. for city residents and 11 a.m. for non-city residents at the registration link below. The deadline for registering for classes beginning in January is Wednesday, Jan. 5. Timely registration is recommended since offerings fill up quickly. CONNECTING FOR SUCCESS WEBINAR FOR SMALL BUSINESSES TODAY - The City of Tucson's Office of Economic Initiatives (ConnectTucson) webinar series, "Connecting for Success," is held monthly, featuring a guest speaker, presentation, and Q&A. The next webinar will be today, Nov. 29, from 3-4 p.m. This month, hear about the Economic and Workforce Development Grants Program, including highlights from last year, information on the next application cycle, and updates from two of the grant recipients (Startup Tucson and the Community Investment Corporation). COVID-19 UPDATE AND VACCINATION INFORMATION - Today's, Nov. 29, COVID-19 dashboard from the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) adds 1,961 new cases and 1 death. ADHS has an interactive map with vaccine distribution sites (link below), and there are multiple locations throughout Tucson. So far, more than 4.6 million people in Arizona, or 65.2% of the population, have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and more than 4.1 million people are fully vaccinated with both doses.
