TUCSON MEET YOURSELF NEEDS VOLUNTEERS - The Southwest Folklife Alliance, an affiliate of the University of Arizona, is seeking volunteers for this year's Tucson Meet Yourself (TMY) celebration, Oct. 8-10, in Downtown Tucson. The festival is an annual celebration of the living traditional arts of Southern Arizona’s and Northern Mexico’s diverse ethnic and folk communities, featuring hundreds of artisans, home cooks, dancers, musicians and special exhibits that celebrate diversity in our region. Due to COVID-19, TMY has created more space for social distancing and scaled back the festival slightly to prioritize the safety of artists, vendors, attendees, and volunteers. Help is needed with setting up and breaking down the festival, assisting folk artists, providing stage assistance for performers, and other roles as needed. Volunteers are advised to wear masks and be fully vaccinated. For more information, follow the links below. TMY information for volunteers TMY

Full approvals of the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are expected in the near future. So far, more than 4 million people in Arizona, or 56.5% of the population, have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and nearly 3.58 million people are fully vaccinated with both doses.
