COVID-19 VACCINE ELIGIBILITY EXPANDS TO YOUTH - Pima County and its community partners will be offering expanded opportunities to be vaccinated now that the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have endorsed the Emergency Use Authorization of the Pfizer vaccine to include children ages 12 to 15. That means starting today, May 13, COVID-19 vaccines are available to anyone 12 years old and up at Pfizer sites in Tucson and Pima County. A parent or guardian must be present to consent for their minor child to get the vaccine. Sites with the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are open to those at least 18 years old. The Arizona Department of Health Services has an interactive map with vaccine distribution sites (link below). So far, more than 3 million people in Arizona, or 42.9% of the population, have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while more than 2.5 million people are fully vaccinated with both doses.
