DOWNTOWN LINKS TRAFFIC ALERT
Downtown Links Constructors (DLC), under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility have begun work on the Downtown Links project.
Motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians should anticipate intermittent lane restrictions throughout the limits of the project in addition to the following upcoming work:
At 11 p.m. Monday, October 5, the contractor will begin initial concrete work for the portion of storm drain installation north of Sixth Street, between Stone and Echols avenues. Work on the storm drain will continue daily for the next several months. Residents, businesses and travelers through the area should expect:
- Light plants in operation during night work
- Concrete pumps and trucks entering and exiting the area
- Large equipment in, and traveling through, the work zone
- Audible back-up alarms
The contractor continues with the nightly soil export operation from the vacant lot north of Broadway, adjacent to the Aviation Bikeway and West of Iron Horse Park. The soil export operation is expected to continue through mid-October 2020.
The contractor will continue work for new drainage infrastructure in the vacant lot north of Sixth Street between Stone Avenue and Ninth Avenue.
- Motorist, bicyclist and pedestrians traveling along Sixth Street and/or Stone Avenue in this area should watch for equipment entering and exiting the work site.
The contractor continues clearing plant material for the future roadway alignment, removing existing fences, walls, and asphalt concrete in various areas throughout the project limits.
The 30-month construction project is scheduled for completion in early 2023. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Los automovilistas, ciclistas y peatones deben anticipar las restricciones de carriles intermitentes a lo largo de los límites del proyecto, además de los siguientes trabajos próximos:
A las 11 p.m. del lunes 5 de octubre, el contratista comenzará el trabajo inicial de concreto para la porción de la instalación del drenaje pluvial al norte de la Calle Seis, entre las avenidas Stone y Echols. El trabajo en el drenaje pluvial continuará diariamente durante los próximos meses. Los residentes, negocios y viajeros de la zona deben esperar:
- Torres de luces en funcionamiento durante el trabajo nocturno
- Las máquinas de concreto y los camiones que entran y salen de la zona
- Grandes equipos en, y viajando a través de, la zona de trabajo
- Alarmas audibles de seguridad
El contratista continuará con la operación nocturna de exportación de tierra desde el lote vacante al norte de la Broadway Bulevar, adyacente a la Aviation Autopista y al oeste del Parque Iron Horse. Se espera que la operación de exportación de tierra continúe hasta mediados de octubre de 2020.
El contratista continuará trabajando en una nueva infraestructura de drenaje en el lote vacante al norte de la Calle Seis entre la Avenida Stone y la Avenida Nueve.
- Los automovilistas, ciclistas y peatones que viajen por la Calle Seis y/o la Avenida Stone en esta área deben estar atentos a los grandes equipos que entran y salen del sitio de trabajo.
El contratista sigue limpiando el material vegetal para la futura alineación de la calle, eliminando las cercas, los muros y el concreto asfáltico existentes en varias zonas a lo largo de los límites del proyecto.
Se prevé que el proyecto de construcción, de 30 meses de duración, se termine a principios de 2023.
El programa está sujeto a cambios debido a las inclemencias del tiempo o a circunstancias imprevistas.
