Santa Cruz County Justice Court Announces JP-East Pilot Program
Sonoita, Arizona - The Santa Cruz County Justice Court is launching Justice Court East (JPEast), a pilot program designed to expand access to justice for residents in eastern Santa Cruz County. Services begin January 16, 2026, at the Sonoita Community Space/County Building, 3147 AZ-83, Sonoita, Arizona.
JP-East brings limited civil court services closer to the communities of Elgin, Sonoita, Canelo, and Patagonia, supporting the Court's commitment to fairness, accessibility, and public trust. The program aligns with the Arizona Judicial Branch's strategic priority of expanding access to justice and strengthening public trust.
"Expanding access to justice for every corner of our county is one of my top priorities," said Justice of the Peace Adriana Olaiz. "JP-East is about reducing barriers and ensuring every resident is served with fairness, empathy, and integrity."
JP-East will operate every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, offering civil cases only, including:
- Small Claims
- Civil Complaints
- Evictions
- Orders of Protection
- Weddings
New Filings Only
JP-East services apply to new cases filed on or after January 16, 2026. Any cases filed before that date will continue through the main Justice Court.
