Correction to 2025 Property Tax Notices – Santa Cruz Elementary School District #28
Nogales, AZ - The Santa Cruz County Treasurer’s Office is issuing a correction to its original announcement regarding 2025 Property Tax Notices for property owners in the Santa Cruz Elementary School District #28. Corrected notices will be mailed by the end of the year.
The original notices incorrectly included the Type 03 school district levy twice, resulting in an overstated primary tax rate of 10.3854. The corrected primary tax rate is 8.8248, composed of:
- Santa Cruz Elementary School District #28: 7.2642
- Type 03 School District: 1.5606
It was previously reported that the reduction rate would change. However, after further review with a consultant, it has been confirmed that the originally published reduction rate of 2.3409 is correct and will remain unchanged.
Refunds or credits will be issued accordingly:
- Full payments will receive refunds by December 31, 2025.
- Partial payments will see credits applied to the second installment.
The Treasurer’s Office, in coordination with the County Superintendent and the school district, is implementing improved verification procedures to prevent future errors.
