Pima County and partners advance
Taiwanese collaborations
Pima County joined partners from the University of Arizona, Arizona Commerce Authority, and the City of Tucson on an outbound delegation to Taiwan focused on advancing opportunities in semiconductors, innovation, workforce development, and international investment from May 23-June 3.
The delegation met with government, academic, and industry leaders, participated in the Computex/Innovex Conference, and signed two Memorandums of Understanding with Kaohsiung City and the Kaohsiung City Education Bureau. These efforts build on existing partnerships and position Pima County to attract new business investment, talent development opportunities, and technology-related growth. Pima County and Tucson economic development teams collaborate
The Pima County and City of Tucson economic development teams recently came together for a joint retreat focused on strengthening collaboration, aligning priorities, and preparing for new opportunities in economic development.
The day began with a behind-the-scenes tour of the ongoing construction projects at the Tucson Zoo, including the new Asia exhibit area, providing attendees with a firsthand look at one of the community’s significant public investments. The tour highlighted the scale and impact of current improvements and served as a reminder of the important role that public infrastructure and quality-of-life amenities play in supporting economic vitality.

PCC seeks business partners for internships
The Pima Community College (PCC) Business Department is seeking local employer partners to support its credit-bearing internship course. This program allows students to earn college credit while gaining valuable real-world business experience in a professional work environment.
Partnering with PCC provides businesses with the opportunity to mentor and develop emerging business professionals while building a strong local talent pipeline. Employer partners gain early access to motivated students who are developing current, job-ready business skills and can be considered for future employment. This creates a low-risk, high-impact opportunity to evaluate potential future employees while contributing to workforce development in the local community.
