Local businesses can grow regional supply chain with Mexico
Pima County is advancing international business opportunities through its Pima Global Supply Chain Index Program, a cross-border initiative developed in partnership with the State of Baja California, Mexico. The program is designed to strengthen regional supply chains by connecting businesses on both sides of the border, creating new pathways for collaboration, investment, and growth.
Through this two-way matchmaking platform, companies can register to identify potential partners, suppliers, and customers, helping to expand market access while increasing foreign direct investment (FDI) in Pima County. The program supports a wide range of industries, including aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, microelectronics, clean energy, logistics, software development, and business services.
AZ Tech Week kicks off April 6
Arizona’s innovation ecosystem will take center stage during Arizona Tech Week from April 6-12.
This weeklong celebration brings together entrepreneurs, startups, investors, educators, and industry leaders from across the state to showcase emerging technologies, share ideas, and strengthen Arizona’s fast-growing tech economy.

Aguascalientes delegation visit highlights the strength of the region
Pima County welcomed a distinguished delegation from Aguascalientes, Mexico, during the week of March 23, 2026, to reinforce a growing partnership centered on creating academic, government, economic development, workforce development and natural resource stewardship partnerships.
The visit was to reciprocate a visit Pima County made to Aguascalientes last year that started the framework of this partnership and highlighted the strong binational ties between Southern Arizona and central Mexico, with a focus on expanding opportunities for businesses on both sides of the border.

From pitch to prize: Over $50,000 awarded to Arizona startups at IdeaFunding 2026
Southern Arizona’s largest and longest continuously running pitch competition, IdeaFunding, awarded over $50,000 to Arizona-based startups on March 26, 2026.
Co-led by Startup Tucson and the University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI), this year’s competition featured two distinct tracks designed to support a broader range of innovators: the Creative and Innovation Community Track, sponsored by Arizona Arts, and the Tech Track, sponsored by R&A CPAs

U of A College of Engineering recognizes leaders
The University of Arizona College of Engineering celebrated excellence and dedication during its Annual Awards on March 25, 2026, honoring individuals whose contributions advance the college’s mission of research, teaching, and service.
Among this year’s highlights was the recognition of two distinguished members of New Frontiers of Sound (NewFoS) senior personnel for their milestone years of service. Krishna Muralidharan was honored for 20 years of impactful work, while Minkyu Kim was recognized for 10 years of dedicated service.

Shape the future of transportation in Pima County
Help Pima County Transportation develop a Master Plan that will guide improvements for walking, biking, driving and transit across Pima County for the next 30 years. The Transportation Master Plan will address all 9,189 square miles of the County and include 2,200 miles of roadway, along with pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and paratransit infrastructure. This plan will help local businesses by improving mobility for all residents.
