There's no place like the Pets of Pima Parade and Friends of PACC Festival
The event, which helps raise funds for additional lifesaving work at Pima Animal Care Center, will be held on Sunday, March 8, beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will start on East 6th St. Near Tucson Magnet High School and will conclude downtown near CORBETT’S TUCSON (340 N. 6th Ave.).
To mark five years of success, this is the first year that the parade will have a theme: “Wizard of Paws, There's no place like home.”
Torre Chisholm, the director of Friends of PACC, said the event is fun for the whole family, all while supporting a great cause.
"With over 1,000 adorable pets, many in costume, the parade is good for endless smiles and a million tail wags — all in support of homeless and vulnerable pets. Come join us on the yellow brick road,” Chisholm said.
This year will mark the largest procession in parade history. Spectators will see floats, music, costumes, pets, shopping, and much more. The Friends of PACC Festival is also the largest to date, with no vacant vendor spots.
All money raised from the parade helps PACC provide free medical outreach events, covers lifesaving surgeries, the cost of personalized pet tags for all pet owners in Pima County, and much more.
“Come out and help us celebrate our pets and celebrate the great work our community partner Friends of PACC is doing,” said Steve Kozachik, director of PACC. “The event is fun, upbeat, family friendly and a great opportunity to just be outdoors and have a good time with friends, neighbors and other community members. With all the serious stuff going on, treat yourself to this fun couple of hours.”
Public Parking: Tucson High School Animal Rescue Group is offering paid parking ($7) off of 8th St. & 1st Ave. and at Roskruge K8 Magnet School off 2nd Ave., all proceeds will be donated to Friends of PACC.
