Changes at the Joel D. Valdez Library and with some other downtown-centric County departments are the topic of this month’s Administration Address by Deputy County Administrator Steve Holmes. He also thanks outgoing Library Director Amber Mathewson for her three decades of service and welcomes new Library Director Tess Mayer.
Employee appreciation event at Water Campus set for July 24
Join fellow northwest side employees for the next County Employee Appreciation event at Wastewater’s Water Campus, 2955 W. Calle Agua Nueva, on Thursday, July 24, from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
The County Administrator, staff and elected officials will be on hand to thank employees for their hard work. Light refreshments and snacks will be served, and employees can pick up some giveaway items and enter a raffle for a chance to win free tickets to Old Tucson.

Human Resources' Training & Development Program is offering a course for managers/supervisors through Workday called “Reasonable Suspicion” that will review policies and procedures to prepare you before a negative situation occurs.

Employees enjoy July 4 VIP treatment
The Fourth of July was even more fun than usual for several County employees, who were able to bring family and friends to enjoy free refreshments at Kino Sports Complex during the holiday festivities. This is the second year that Human Resources has partnered with Kino Sports Complex to offer employees the free tickets, which were an incentive to get more employees involved in Public Service Recognition Week.

Health staff share challenges, success stories at national conference
The Pima County Health Department joined more than 2,000 local health department professionals July 14-18 at the National Association of County Health Officials 360 Conference in Anaheim. The conference brings together public health professionals from across the U.S. to share challenges, growth opportunities, and success stories.

Pima County Information Technology is excited to announce that upgrades to Windows 11 have begun! As part of the County’s continued commitment to providing the best tools and technology for our users, computers on the Central domain are expected to receive the upgrade by the end of October 2025.
