Snow's journey home

white dog in yard

Every one of our adoptions is a good news story. In this case, we were able to rehome a pup whose former owner has begun some medical treatments that caused her to have to surrender her family mate of 10 years. This is Snow – just getting used to her new surroundings.

She had spent about a week in an isolation kennel at PACC getting over a cold – precautionary so it didn’t spread to other dogs in the shelter. So Snow had been pretty much alone for a while, not outdoors, and not getting much human attention. Clearly she’s enjoying her new home, new opportunities to be outdoors…

And clearly enjoying her new ‘mom’ – looking for some loving.

Snow is now the loving partner of a senior living alone here in Pima County. But relationships can start with your new family member at any stage of life:

We’re open 7 days a week for adoptions. Our staff loves bringing families together, and as Snow shows, the pups love meeting and getting to know their new moms and dads and siblings. PACC’s adoptions center is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from noon to 7 p.m., on Wednesday from 1:30 to 7 p.m., and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You can get a sneak peak at who’s here so your visit can be more focused when you arrive – the website is found at pima.gov/animalcare.

It didn’t take long for Snow to settle into her new home. You can experience the same joy – and bring some into the life of a new furry family member.

With thanks,

Steve Kozachik, PACC Director
