The current drought conditions mean Pima County faces above-normal potential for significant wildland fires through at least June, according to the National Weather Service. The Pima County Office of Emergency Management hosted a Wildland Fire Seminar on April 3, bringing together regional partners to share expertise, exchange ideas and answer questions ahead of what is shaping up to be a high-risk wildfire season.

It’s no surprise at this time of the year, as puppy and kitten season ramps up and the shelter sees an increase in pets coming into the shelter, but it does mean that PACC pups are in urgent need of the community’s help.

Tucson, did you know…there were 100 Chinese grocery stores here?

Tucson experienced a wave of Chinese immigration in the late 19th century due to the railroad's construction. Many of those immigrants stayed in the area and played a significant role in the development of the city in the 20th century. Learn more Chinese immigration in the latest video, part of a new video series created to support Tucson’s Silverbell Road Project. Pima County Conservation Lands & Resources teamed up with local documentarian Lisa Molomot and University of Arizona students to produce the videos as part of the project’s public outreach program.
