Good morning,
Over the past week there have been so many moving tributes to Congressman Raul Grijalva. I shared my own sentiments after his passing (below). A common theme that stands out is Congressman Grijalva’s lifetime dedication to public service. He made a difference in the lives of the people he represented locally, statewide and nationally. Thank you, Raul.
We don’t all have the fortitude to become a United States Congressman, but we can all do our part to be active participants in enriching the world around us. I believe we can all work together to build more fair, prosperous and thriving place to live. Volunteering is a great way to contribute to this and help our neighbors. I’ve highlighted some of the Pima County volunteer opportunities below for your consideration but there are many more options within our community just waiting for you to offer your time and energy.
To quote Pima County Supervisor Adelita Grijalva, Raul's daughter, in honor of her father, "If you want to honor my father, just do something."

PUBLISHED March 13, 2025: My family and I join the entire Southern Arizona community in mourning the loss of one of our region’s most significant leaders, Congressman Raul Grijalva. As a school board member, county supervisor and member of the US Congress, he could always be counted on to be an advocate for the people who needed his help the most, especially our children. For his entire life, Raul Grijalva exemplified the values of love, justice, service and compassion. He was someone I deeply admired, and all of his accomplishments have made Southern Arizona better and stronger in many ways.
