Flood Control District wraps up work on Arroyo Chico project

The Pima County Regional Flood Control District is wrapping up work on its longest-running endeavor, a massive flood control and environmental restoration project along a 4.8-mile stretch of the Arroyo Chico Wash that launched in 1994. Historically, the area has been associated with severe flooding, but that's no longer the case.

Pets of Pima Parade, Friends of PACC Festival set for March 2

If you're heading to the Tucson Subaru Pets of Pima Parade this Sunday, make sure to stop by the Friends of PACC Festival afterward along 7th Street downtown. The festival features live entertainment, food, pet-themed tattoos, more than 60 vendors and adoptable pets from PACC and three other rescues.

Read this, then that: Black Cowboys in History

In honor of Black History Month, and in celebration of the Tucson Rodeo, the Pima County Public Library is recommending two books to help you learn more about the experiences of Black cowboys who spent much of their lives on the back of a horse.
