 Registration now open for Pima County Parks & Recreation's lifeguard training courses
PIMA COUNTY, Feb. 6, 2025 — The Pima County Parks & Recreation Aquatics Program is offering spring training courses for individuals looking to become lifeguards ahead of the 2025 swim season.
To qualify for summer lifeguard positions, candidates must register and complete the required prerequisites. Pools will open on Memorial Day, May 26, with lifeguard training courses set for February and March. Participants must be at least 16 years old by June 15, 2025, and pay a $50 screening fee to register.
Lifeguard prerequisite courses will be held at the Thad Terry Aquatic Center, 7770 N. Shannon Road, on the following dates:
- Feb. 12, 6–7 p.m. | Registration deadline: Feb. 11
- Feb. 22, 4–5 p.m. | Registration deadline: Feb. 21
- Feb. 28, 6–7 p.m. | Registration deadline: Feb. 27
- March 12, 6–7 p.m. | Registration deadline: March 11
- March 22, 4–5 p.m. | Registration deadline: March 21
- March 24, 6–7 p.m. | Registration deadline: March 23
Training will include American Red Cross lifeguard certification and provide an overview of Pima County policies and procedures, including the employment application process.
