The Deputy Director will lead key initiatives in collaboration with a team of four full-time employees and diverse local, regional, and federal partners.
The department focuses on sustainable economic development practices, driving investment, enhancing workforce development opportunities, and supporting upward economic mobility for our community.
Governor provides State Report in Tucson
The Southern Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is hosting Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs for her annual State Report on Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Tucson Convention Center.

Pima Community College cuts the ribbon for new tech and entrepreneur center
Pima Community College celebrated its new Southern Arizona Technology & Entrepreneurship Center (SATEC) with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Dec. 17.
The state-of-the-art business incubator is dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs, innovators and startups in the information technology, applied technology and manufacturing sectors.
The facility offers collaboration opportunities with seasoned mentors, PCC faculty and industry leaders for personalized guidance in business development, prototyping and scaling.

ASU selected as partner for national CHIPS facility
In a victory for the entire state and a critical step forward for America’s efforts to reclaim its place as the global leader in digital technology, the U.S. Commerce Department and Natcast — the operator of the National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC) — announced on Jan. 6 the selection of Arizona as the site of the co-located NSTC Prototyping and National Advanced Packaging Manufacturing Program (NAPMP) Advanced Packaging Piloting Facility.
It is the third of three CHIPS for America research and development flagship facilities, and the one with the largest financial investment. The final terms are being negotiated and will be announced soon.
