The Employees Care About Pima County campaign donates thousands of dollars each year to nonprofits across Southern Arizona. And this year's campaign starts Sept. 26. County Administrator Jan Lesher details how those donations have left a positive impact on the community.
Department of Labor rule will affect more than 800 County employees
The Department of Labor issued a final rule that updates and revises the regulations under a section of the Fair Labor Standards Act that affects overtime pay requirements. A change that came in July affected seven County job classifications. The upcoming change, set to take effect Dec. 15, affects 208 job classifications and roughly 847 employees overall.
Nearly 300 County employees turned out at Kino Event Center for a chance to chat with Board of Supervisors Chair Adelita S. Grijalva, County Administrator Jan Lesher and County Administration staff and get breakfast and free items as a thanks for their hard work.

PACC bids farewell to Community Engagement Manager, long-time staffer
PACC is a national leader in life-saving programs designed to help both people and pets and saves more than 90% of the 18,000+ animals who walk into the shelter every year. But nearly two decades ago, most animals didn’t leave alive. Michele Figueroa, called "Fig" by her colleagues, was there through that transformation. Community event for new and expectant parents for Sept. 28
The Pima County Health Department is partnering with Arizona Bilingual News to offer a free community event for current and expectant parents later this month. The Tu Bebé & You Expo will offer health and community resources to help families navigate the pre-pregnancy to early childhood years.

Workday is coming!
We’ve launched new intranet pages about Workday, the County’s new one-stop software that everyone will use to do important things, like filling out timecards and managing benefits. Much more information is coming before the software goes live in mid-December, so keep this Pima1 landing page handy for updates and information.
