Public comment period open for proposed Pima County Heat Ordinance

County staff answered the call after storms, computer outages

First came the storms in mid-July with heavy rains and high winds. Then came another strike, though not in the form of lightning. Instead it was errant computer coding that crippled Windows-based systems globally, including thousands of Pima County devices. Enter staff from Public Works and Pima County Information Technology to the rescue.

Santa Cruz River Park Trail vying for national honor

The Loop

Pima County’s own Santa Cruz River Park Trail, the stretch of The Loop that runs along the river, has been nominated for the Rails to Trails Conservancy’s Hall of Fame! The nonprofit organization recognizes the best multi-use trails in the country every year. Voting begins on Friday, July 26 and ends at midnight on Aug. 7.

Last Chance: Help PACC #EmptyTheShelters

This is the last weekend to take advantage of Pima Animal Care Center's free adoption special, offered during the #EmptyTheShelters campaign in collaboration with Bissell Pet Foundation.

PACC has more than 600 pets in the shelter and hundreds more in foster waiting to find a family, and all pets — cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies — are free to adopt through July 31.
