We're expecting! PACC seeing influx of kittens during warmer months
This time of year, there’s a constant soundtrack of tiny kitten mews around Pima Animal Care Center. That can only mean one thing: It’s officially kitten season in Pima County. So far in 2024, PACC staff has seen several dozen litters come into the shelter and expect to see hundreds of kittens in the coming months. PCHD internships prepare students for public health careers
Students with a passion for public health are finding a home at the Pima County Health Department, thanks to Public Health AmeriCorps. The program places students, primarily from the Mel and Enid College of Public Health at the University of Arizona, in internships that run from Labor Day to Memorial Day.

Welcoming Elaine A. Powers, the library's newest Writer in Residence
Local author Elaine A. Powers has taken the reins as the Library's Summer Writer in Residence. Her residency runs through July 29. As Writer in Residence, Powers will consult with writers of any age, experience or genre.
