PACC and partner organizations hosting countywide adoption event March 30

PIMA COUNTY, March 25, 2024 – Pima Animal Care Center is teaming up with 18 local shelters and rescues to hold a countywide adoption event at different locations across Pima County on Saturday, March 30.

PACC's event will be a Spring Swing adoption fair. The shelter will be open extended hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and will host a variety of family-friendly games, activities, and food trucks from noon to 4 p.m. All pets at PACC will be free to adopt in celebration of the countywide event.

Animal shelters and rescues in Pima County and across the country have now faced years of more animals coming into shelters than leaving them for loving homes.

“Finding adoptive homes for animals in need is currently more important than ever,” said Monica Dangler, PACC’s director of animal services. “We’re honored to partner with so many excellent organizations across Pima County who share our life-saving goals. Every Pima County pet in need that finds a new home is a win for all of our organizations.”

Thanks to the wide array of participating rescue organizations, this countywide event offers a special advantage to those who may be seeking a specific breed or species of pet. In addition, the widespread distribution of locations across Tucson guarantees that no matter what part of town, there will be an adoption opportunity nearby.

At PACC, all pets will be free to adopt. A $20 licensing fee may apply to adopted adult dogs. All pets adopted from PACC are up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Adoption fees, policies, and hours for the other participating shelters and rescues are determined by those organizations.
