Proposed budget pushes savings toward key priorities

Final adoption of the budget for Fiscal Year 2024 is on the agenda for the next Board of Supervisors meeting June 20. In this budget process, funding requests from departments were evaluated in accordance with critical County priorities, like improving roads and infrastructure; supporting justice and law enforcement; and being an employer of choice. The new budget allocates more than $200 million for capital improvements, funds salary increases for the Sheriff’s Department, and provides funding to keep Pima County competitive in the employment market for top talent.
