PIMA COUNTY, June 13, 2023 -- Pima County’s Public Defense Services office will offer two legal clinics beginning June 20 that will assist people arrested for, charged with, and/or convicted of certain crimes in petitioning the court to seal their criminal records.
At the free clinics, clients are able to meet with an attorney to determine whether they can ask the court to seal their record. Attorneys will help petitioners fill out paperwork to seal their record, and share information on how sealing their record might affect their individual situation.
Both clinics, which run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Public Defense Services 10th floor conference room, 33 N. Stone Ave., will be offered on:
- Tuesday, June 20
- Tuesday, August 22
These are walk-in clinics. No appointment is necessary.
Public Defense Services offers court-authorized legal services for all those in need. The office oversees the work of the Public Defender, Legal Defender, Legal Advocate, Public Fiduciary, Office of Court Appointed Counsel, Office of Children’s Counsel and the Mental Health Defender.
