County launches program to recognize
its outstanding employees, teams

A pat on the back for a job well done is always nice, but County Administration says employees deserve a little bit more than the occasional kudo. That’s why Human Resources has led the effort to launch a formal Employee Recognition Program called We A.R.E. Gems. The “A.R.E.” pays tribute to the values County employees voted as most important: being accountable, respectful and ethical.

Period supplies drive starts May 22

The District 5 Office of Board of Supervisors Chair Adelita Grijalva is sponsoring a period products drive from May 22 to June 2. Donors can drop off menstruation supplies at various locations around Pima County. Downtown dropoff sites include the District 5 Office at 33 N. Stone Ave., 11th Floor; the lobby at the Pima County Attorney's Office, 32 N. Stone Ave.; the Pima County Recorder's Office, 240 N. Stone Ave.; and the Pima County Youth One-Stop, 320 N. Information Technology will hold 'Office Hours'
to answer employees' questions

The Information Technology Department is continually working to improve Pima County’s systems. However, sometimes those upgrades prompt questions from employees about the new technologies. The ITD staff is making it easier to get answers to those questions. The department is starting a series of sessions June 8 called “Office Hours” to be held once a month. This is your opportunity to meet with ITD staff, ask questions or to get help with an issue that is impacting you and your work.

Join dozens of County employees
who are using GoEzy carpooling app

Dozens of County employees are already using the GoEzy carpool matching app. The app was customized for Pima County employees so that they are only matched with other County employees. The more people that sign up, the more that can be matched. To get used to the app, start small and test it out on a practice drive with a colleague when going to an offsite meeting or out to lunch. You’ll get the hang of it in no time.

Get discounted tickets for Sugar Skulls

Pima County employees can get discounted tickets for all Tucson Sugar Skulls Indoor Football League games. This Saturday, the Sugar Skulls take on the Sioux Falls Storm. On May 27, the Sugar Skulls will host the Bay Area Panthers. All home games begin at 6 p.m. at the Tucson Convention Center's Tucson Arena. Ticket prices range from $11 (which reflects a $3 discount) in the upper level to $38 ($10 discount) for lower-level seats.


Pima1 is looking for Change Champions

A Change Champion is a person open to new ideas, who is ready to improve processes and is willing to help facilitate that change. Pima County is seeking Change Champions for the Pima1 project. The Change Champions will communicate Pima1 information within their departments about the impact of the new software on every aspect of County operations. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
