Pima County, TMC, Parklands Foundation partner to offer free swim lessons
PIMA COUNTY, May 8, 2023 – Pima County will offer 900 free swimming lessons to children at eight of its pools this summer.
The lessons will provide families, especially those who are economically disadvantaged, with an opportunity for their children to learn proper swimming techniques and how to be safe in and around water.
Three pools will offer free lessons in June and July, courtesy of Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation and the TMC Vest It Up! program:
- Flowing Wells Pool, 4545 N. La Cholla Boulevard
- Kino Pool, 2805 E. Ajo Way
- Los Niños Pool, 5432 S. Bryant Avenue
Registration for June lessons at these pools begins Wednesday, May 10, at 6 a.m. Registration for July lessons begins Tuesday, June 13, at 6 a.m.
In addition, five more County pools will offer a limited number of free lessons in June and July, courtesy of the Pima County Parklands Foundation:
- Ajo Pool, 290 E. 5th
- Catalina Pool, 16562 N. Oracle Road
- Manzanita Pool, 5110 S. San Joaquin Ave.
- Picture Rocks Pool, 5615 N. Sanders Road
- Wade McLean Pool, 12000 W. Emigh Road
Registration for June lessons at these pools begins Tuesday, May 16, at 6 a.m. Registration for July lessons begins Tuesday, June 20, at 6 a.m.
