Resource center at CWD gets makeover, is named for beloved figure
Pima County’s Community & Workforce Development Department recently put the final touch on its refurbished space where members of the public can find help accessing a whole host of County services — including resume assistance; skills training; job searches; and rent and utility assistance.
The room is now known as the Nils Urman Resource Center and some employees at CWD are already affectionately calling it “The NURC” — rhymes with Turk. Urman was the former deputy director at CWD who died in October 2021 at the age of 68.

Well Done: Assisting seniors, citizens and hats off to a great dad
In each issue, eScoop likes to give a shout-out to employees and departments who have earned special recognition. We want to hear about colleagues who have earned kudos on the job, who are going above and beyond the call of duty, or are being recognized for their work or volunteerism outside the office.
Send your ideas on employees who should receive a pat on the back by emailing the eScoop editor.
In this issue, you’ll hear about Parks staff (pictured above) helping a constituent in need, an award-winning dad, County employees stepping up during a recent blood drive and what the Health Department is doing to reach seniors.
