Pima County’s new green team will empower employees to make change
Move over Green Lantern, the Green Stewards are in town.
Last month, Pima County took another step toward meeting its long-term sustainability goals by launching its own employee green team. Known as the Green Stewards, the team is made up of one or two volunteers from each county department.

Free concerts return to the Historic Courthouse
Add some music to your lunchtime routine with free concerts in the courtyard of the Pima County Historic Courthouse.
Musicians specializing in musical styles from around the world will perform in the courtyard every Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

County DEI task force to meet Nov. 3
The county’s work to roll out a program promoting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) continues with the formation of a 13-member task force set to hold its first meeting Nov. 3.
The task force will provide a platform for creating a DEI strategic plan and developing ideas and projects around DEI that intersect with recruitment, training and performance management, among other goals.

Blood drives on Oct. 25-26 and Nov. 2
Pima County’s next blood drive will be held Oct. 25-26 in the basement of the Public Works Building, 201 N. Stone Ave. The Sheriff’s Department also is hosting a drive on Nov. 2.

Employees still have time to complete their Travel Reduction Program Employee Survey (password: PIMDO). It takes fewer than five minutes to complete.
The data is important to area planners and can improve future work commute experiences.

Several libraries serving as vote centers
On Feb. 15, 2022, the Board of Supervisors authorized the use of Vote Centers for county elections, starting this year with the August primary and November general elections.
Several County libraries are among the site for early voting as well as Election Day vote centers.

Beware of email attachments
Email attachments are still a leading factor in spreading malware through organizational computer systems. Such files can be used to spread malicious code that can damage or steal sensitive information from your computer system.
Pima County Information Security always encourages best practices, particularly during October’s Cybersecurity Month.
