PEEPS-affiliated early learning center completed at Pima Community College’s Desert Vista Campus

Pima Community College students have enough to juggle with classes, homework and tuition bills. Childcare issues shouldn’t be on that list.

Now, thanks to a new partnership with Pima County’s Pima Early Education Program (PEEPs), it won't be a problem for some students.

Town hall addressed questions, concerns about monkeypox

Nearly 100 people listened in on a Town Hall Aug. 10 coordinated by Health Department staff and Tucson Medical Center about the monkeypox virus.

Monkeypox is a rare but potentially serious illness caused by the monkeypox virus. The type of monkeypox seen in this outbreak is rarely fatal. However, some demographic groups are likely at higher risk of severe illness. Viewers should note that there may be graphic language around some of the ways monkeypox is transmitted.

Warrant plan offers second chance at probation success

The Adult Probation Department of the Superior Court in Pima County has launched an innovative felony warrant resolution plan that will help bring probation absconders back into compliance without serving time in jail.

The “Clear My Warrant” program will allow many the ability to clear their felony probation warrants without fear of being arrested and incarcerated.

PACC is hiring

Anyone who loves people AND pets and wants to be part of a lifesaving team should look no further than the Pima Animal Care Center.

PACC serves unincorporated Pima County, the cities of Tucson and South Tucson, the Town of Oro Valley and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. Each year, PACC takes in about 19,000 animals with a live-release rate of 92%.

The center's medical clinic is a huge part of that lifesaving, but so are PACC's efforts in animal protection, shelter care and more.
