Click Family Foundation provides live-saving support to PACC through donation to Friends of PACC
Pima County, July 8, 2022 – In response to the capacity crisis at Pima Animal Care Center, created by the influx of lost and stray dogs after July 4, the Click Family Foundation has offered a very generous donation to PACC’s non-profit partner Friends of PACC.
Funds from the donation will allow PACC to offer adopters gift cards to the Central Pet store located at the shelter. For any adoption of a large or medium dog, 40 pounds or larger, the adopter will receive a $50 credit to the store to use on pet supplies. The gift cards are available for each dog adopted and will be given through Sunday, July 10.
Additional funds will be used to house select animals off-site as needed to provde a more calming environment for pets struggling with the stress of being in a shelter for an extended period of time.
“It’s hard to explain just how much this donation will help the animals of Pima County,” said Monica Dangler, Director of Animal Services. “Community partners such as the Click Family Foundation continue to step up again and again when we need them most. This donation is another example of how much Pima County cares about the animals that live here and our mission here at PACC to save as many lives as possible.”
PACC is hoping to get at least 100 medium- to large-sized dogs out of the shelter by the end of this weekend. Here’s how the public can help:
- Adopt: Visit pima.gov/adopt to view all available animals in the shelter and find your new furever friend. Then come to the shelter, 4000 N. Silverbell Road, to meet the animals you’re interested in.
- Foster: Sign up to be a foster at pima.gov/foster to help a dog get out of the stressful environment of the shelter and play a role in finding them a new family.
- Social media: Share any lost or found posts you see on your social media to help widen the net and increase the chances of pets being reunited with their owners before being brought to PACC.
- Be patient: When you come to the shelter, please expect to spend a couple of hours getting matched with your perfect pet. In-person visits take precedence over calls and emails.
PACC is open noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
