ROAD REPAIR WORK AND PRESERVATION PROGRAM
River Road from Shannon Road to 15th Avenue
Pima County, Ariz. (March 12) – On Monday, March 15, Pima County Department of Transportation along with its contractor, Southern Arizona Paving & Construction Co Inc., will begin paving River Road from Shannon Road to 15th Avenue.
Milling and Paving: The contractor will begin milling and repaving the outside lanes, starting in the eastbound direction on Monday, March 15 through Friday, March 26, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Motorists can expect the following traffic control set up:
- One lane of traffic will be open in each direction at all times
- Traffic will be shifted to newly paved lanes as they are completed
- Milling and paving will continue on the inside lanes
- Turn lanes will be paved last
Temporary Striping: Temporary striping is scheduled for Wednesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 1.
Minor delays may occur during this work. Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices. Pima County Sheriff's Deputies will be on site to monitor traffic.
In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.
In Fiscal Year 2020/2021, the Pima County Board of Supervisors and Transportation Department allocated $56 million in road repair and preservation funding for the Road Repair and Preservation Program.
