The Loop is #1 in USA Today poll

The Chuck Huckelberry Loop has earned the top spot in USA Today’s 2021 "10Best Readers’ Choice" travel award contest for Best Recreational Trail. The Loop was nominated by a panel of experts from USA Today, 10Best.com, expert contributors and other media sources, but it was ultimately crowned the winner thanks to members of the public who selected it as the Best Trail during a four-week online voting contest, which concluded Feb. 14.

Terrance Watkins and wife

New home, bright future: Pima County Housing Center helps man turn life around

Terrance Watkins has a good life.

Married about four years. Good job in social work. Two grown kids on their own. Two more children at home. Been able to put some savings in the bank. A house he has called his own for the past 10 years.

That last part – the house, the home – has been his life’s foundation. It has meant everything.

With coordination and support from multiple agencies, including the Pima County Housing Center, Watkins’ life changed, completely, after moving to Tucson in the summer of 2008.

Until then, Terrance Watkins had a bad life filled with bad decisions.

Rhoades, pet and owner

PACC helps pets – and people – in need

Education can be a powerful tool, especially when it comes to the safety and welfare of animals.

Just ask Rebecca Rhoades, an animal protection officer with Pima Animal Care Center.

She shared a story about 13-year-old Bogie and his owner, who gave her permission to share this story so that it might help others, too.

Got potholes? Report 'em here

SeeClickFix is a phone app that lets you quickly report potholes, road maintenance or other concerns.

The Pima County Department of Transportation also has a website where you can report graffiti, check on an issue you may have previously reported and find links to download the phone app.
