Historic finds: Photos, maps provide glimpse into County’s past
In preparing to move to its temporary, second-floor offices in the Public Works Building, the Development Services Department faced a dilemma: what to do with the accumulated volumes of maps and photos that it no longer needed?

Employees can learn about race and equity at Nov. 4 presentations
Julie Nelson, director of the Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE), will be visiting Pima County Nov. 4 to give three presentations to county employees.
GARE is a national network of governments working to achieve racial equity and advance opportunities for all. To date, the organization has worked with 171 local and regional government jurisdictions across the country.

Staff earn honors at annual Common Ground Awards
Pima County staff took home several awards from the annual Metropolitan Pima Alliance Common Ground celebration Nov. 1. MPA works to create a prosperous community by promoting collaborative real estate development policies, building partnerships and finding common ground.

Annual GIS Fair set for Nov. 8
Pima County ITD Geographic Information Systems will host the 22nd Annual Pima County GIS Fair Nov. 8, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the County-City Public Works Building, 201 N. Stone Ave., Basement Conference Room C.
Government staff, businesses, and the general public can hear presentations and try out the latest GIS tools at the free fair. The theme is "It’s a Dry Heat: GIS and the Sonoran Desert."

County Paints Pima Purple
There wasn't a single brush or roller in sight, but Pima County staff and elected officials still "Painted Pima Purple" Oct. 24. Employees donned their purple to support Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse and raise awareness of the issue of domestic violence.

County Attorney’s Office craft fair and bake sale is Nov. 15
All are welcome to a holiday bake sale and craft fair Nov. 15 in the first floor conference room of the Legal Services Building, 32 N. Stone Ave. The annual event is 8 a.m.-2 p.m. and sponsored by the Pima County Attorney’s Office.

Wastewater, Tucson Water host emergency exercise
The County’s Wastewater Reclamation Department teamed with Tucson Water and more than 60 utility providers earlier this fall for a hazard exercise testing everyone’s emergency preparedness.
