How Does Planting Wildflowers Reduce Greenhouse Gases?

Native Plants and Nature Based Solutions to Climate Change.

Mesa Climate Action Plan

Check out TARGET 3.2 in Mesa's Climate Action Plan, and you'll find this strategy "Protect natural open space and conserve native wildlife, plants, and natural areas." Native wildflowers, shrubs and trees are not only beautiful, they remind us of what is special and unique about the place where we live. These plants serve other important functions. Native plants dramatically increase the diversity of bees, butterflies, birds and other native animals. Healthy, native landscapes will build and support healthy soils, and healthy soils will absorb more carbon.
