Are you looking for a way to uplift your community? Host a drive for cold weather kits.
The Point-in-Time (PIT) Homelessness Count is an annual street and shelter count to determine the number of people experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County during a given point in time. To enhance the experience for those we are surveying and ensure it feels more respectful and supportive, The City of Mesa provides cold weather kits to each individual or family we speak with. The kits include any of the following: gloves, beanies, socks, scarves, hand warmers, neck gaiters, ponchos, hygiene supplies and more. We are looking for organizations or businesses willing to support these efforts by hosting a donation drive for any (or all) of the items mentioned. Committing to this drive will make an immediate and lasting impact in your community. Contact katie.pollak@mesaaz.gov for more information. This is a great opportunity for your group or organization to make an impact!

Help us decide what strategies best address your traffic concerns

Please take the survey by November 15. Get involved, share with your friends and family, and take our short survey to help make Mesa's streets safer for everyone: MesaSaferStreets.com

As the leaves change and the air gets crisp, it’s the perfect time to cozy up with your favorite fall activities. But remember safety comes first when using your gas appliances and equipment!
- Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
- Watch for Carbon Monoxide: Install and test CO detectors regularly. Remember, CO is invisible and odorless but can be dangerous.
- Report the Smell of Rotten Eggs: This odor could indicate a gas leak. If detected, leave the area immediately and call 911 and 480-644-4277 to report it.
- Outdoor Fun: Check gas connections for your grill and ensure it’s in a well-ventilated area. Never use outdoor gas appliances indoors.
- Educate the Family: Review natural gas safety together. Create a safety plan.

Holiday Pet Safety
No people food for the fur family! Chocolate can be harmful to pets, and the artificial sweetener called Xylitol, commonly used in sugarless gum and sugar-free baked goods, can be deadly if consumed by dogs or cats.
Raw bread dough is also extremely dangerous for your pet. The yeast continues to convert the sugars in the dough to carbon dioxide gas and alcohol, resulting in bloated, drunken pets, which can become a life-threatening emergency. If your pet digests any food, you should contact your veterinarian immediately.
