10 Reasons to Let Your Lawn Hibernate This Winter
While a lush, green lawn year round is tempting, the extra water needed for cool-season grasses is hard to justify in our desert climate. You can save an impressive 8,000 gallons of water for every 1,000 square feet of grass by choosing not to overseed. For HOAs, this adds up to nearly 350,000 gallons per acre! Embracing a water-efficient lifestyle and accepting a less-than-lush lawn during winter months not only conserves this precious resource but also saves you time and money. If you need more convincing, check out our top 10 reasons to forgo your winter lawn.
