Find and Fix Leaks to Save Water and Money
Finding and fixing leaks, especially silent ones that go unnoticed – like a leaky toilet – is one of the easiest ways to save water and money at home.
That is why we celebrate Fix a Leak Week each year (this year it’s March 18-24) to raise awareness of how much water is wasted annually by dripping faucets, leaking toilets and broken sprinkler heads. Not sure where to start? Check out our Find and Fix Leaks webpage for DIY videos, tips on how to read your meter and chase down leaks at home and activities for kids.

As an additional safety measure to our system, we install EFVs on gas service lines to limit gas flow if the line is broken or severely damaged. This is most often associated with excavation or vehicle impact with the meter assembly. If you have an EFV, it is typically installed at the service line connection to the gas main or at the property line and can be identified by a washer on the meter riser. For more information about EFVs or the requirements and costs to have one installed.
