Get involved today and help us plan Tomorrow's Mesa!
The City of Mesa is updating several major plans, including the City's General Plan, which is only updated once every ten years. These plans shape how Mesa will change and grow into the future.
We invite all residents to visit tomorrowsmesa.com and tell us your vision for Mesa! There will be surveys throughout 2023 on our website. You can also check out our booths at locations throughout Mesa or visit one of our signature events this summer. Mesa residents will vote on the 2050 General Plan in November 2024.
Chip in for Microchipping: Help us reach our goal
Mesa Animal Control wants to make sure your pets stay safe and happy at home with you. This spring, help us provide microchips to families who can't afford one and prevent shelters from becoming overrun.
We aim to collect $1,000 by March 6th. Will you chip in?
When your dog’s microchip is up to date, it’s easier for Mesa Animal Control to reunite them with you if they get lost. Some families don’t have the means to microchip their dogs, if they get lost this makes them more vulnerable to ending up in a shelter. Help us get microchips to as many pets as we can!

Want to Remove Your Grass? Our Incentives Have Increased!
Apply to remove established grass and replace it with a water-thrifty Xeriscape landscape and you may qualify to receive up to $1,100 from the City of Mesa.
Two levels of incentives are available: 500 - 999 square feet of grass conversion is eligible for $750, and more than 1,000 square feet is eligible for $1,000. Add an eligible tree or two as part of your Grass-to-Xeriscape project for up to $100 more. A Xeriscape (zeer-a-scape) uses well-adapted plants, efficient irrigation, careful design and proper maintenance to produce landscapes that save water and energy. Xeriscape also provides wildlife habitat and creates shade. Visit the Water Conservation webpage to find out if you qualify.

Excess Flow Valves
As an additional safety measure, the City of Mesa installs Excess Flow Valves (EFVs) on new/renewed gas service lines serving single and multi-family residences and small commercial services. EFVs are designed to limit the flow of gas if the line is broken or severely damaged. If you have an existing EFV, it is typically installed at the service line connection to the gas main or at the customer’s property line and can be identified by a washer on the meter riser. It is important to note that an EFV does not entirely shut off the gas flow. A minimal amount of gas may bleed by. The gas may not be escaping under full pressure, but there will typically be enough gas to provide a gas odor, indicating there is a problem. If you see or suspect damage to a service line or smell gas, call 480-644-4277 or 911. For additional information, to verify if your service has an EFV, or ask about requirements and costs to have one installed, visit our webpage or email gasinfo@mesaaz.gov.
