 Dog Days of Summer
The dog days of summer have arrived. Mesa Animal Control is reminding residents that temperatures inside a car can increase by 20 degrees in just 10 minutes! It is too hot to leave your dog in a car, even with windows cracked. If the weather is warm, leave your animals at home. Call 911 if you see an animal locked in a vehicle. Learn more about Mesa Animal Control.
Receive volunteer opportunity alerts! The City of Mesa offers many opportunities for residents to help build a better Mesa. We need Volunteers in our art center, libraries, museums, neighborhoods, parks, police and fire departments, and events and community projects.
Please consider sharing your most precious gift with your neighbors: your time. Fill out an Individual or Group Interest form to learn about the volunteer opportunities available for you.
*We care about your health and safety. Most outdoor volunteer opportunities are on pause from June to September.
How Much Water Does Your Household Use?
There is no shortage at the tap, but we still need to save every drop. A great first step is to understand your current water usage. Log into the My Utility Account portal or look at your paper bill to see how much you use. Next, find out how much water you SHOULD use. Visit our Home Water Calculator, input information about your home and landscape and we’ll get you an estimate of monthly usage. These numbers provide a household water budget and ensure that you are using water responsibly. For more tips, visit mesaaz.gov/conservation.

The City of Mesa works with nonprofit agencies and businesses to collect the bottles of water which are distributed through United Food Bank to numerous agencies in the valley, including A New Leaf, Paz de Cristo and Mesa United Way.
Visit the City of Mesa website to learn how you can donate water and where to find hydration and cooling stations throughout the city.
