Friends and colleagues,
I’m so impressed and proud of the work you do on behalf of residents. This year, 22 of our lines of business including county departments, elected offices, and courts have been recognized for their innovative work, earning 75 NACo Achievement Awards - more than ever before. This wide-ranging recognition is proof of what I’ve known for a long time: Maricopa County is one of the best-run, most efficient, and most innovative governments in the United States.
This is worth celebrating!

Due to the large number of awards this year, departments, elected offices, and courts will be assigned tables with a limited number of seats. We will not be able to accommodate every single employee who worked on every single project due to the ballroom’s limited capacity so please plan accordingly.
I’d encourage you to walk, carpool, or take public transportation if possible. Parking in the area is limited, and there is not a county shuttle service available.
Networking and refreshments will be available starting at 9:30 a.m. with the official awards ceremony starting at 10 a.m. The program will not last more than an hour, but please take travel time into account as you plan the rest of your day.
Getting together as a County family to recognize achievements is an important way of remembering we're all in this together. I hope you take this opportunity to join me, my colleagues on the Board, and dozens of dedicated and talented county staff as we celebrate innovation that improves lives.
Jack Sellers
Chairman, District 1
