Good morning,
The adage is true – time flies when you’re having fun! Following the launch of the County’s new look in January, we have already passed two milestones and are quickly marching toward our December deadline. Thank you to all who have helped by implementing the new brand standards in your departments.
As of June 30, all departments should be using branded letterhead and envelopes, business cards, PowerPoint presentations, and digital and printed forms. Web sites operated by the County or which are co-branded with the County, should also reflect the new standards. Have questions or need assistance? We are happy to help! Please email us at caomedia@maricopa.gov.
In the meantime, here are few other reminders and updates.

GovDelivery Clean Up One of the best ways we communicate with our audiences is through our newsletters and other GovDelivery emails. To ensure all GovDelivery products across the County are correctly branded, we will be removing non-branded templates from the system. Please be sure to update your communication pieces by no later than Friday, Oct. 27 to ensure they are not deleted.

Print and Promotional Items While many departments are ahead of schedule, others should be planning for the next required brand updates. By December 31, all printed materials should be converted to the new branding. Please exhaust any existing supplies and order any new printed materials with the new design. Other items due for an update by year-end include event and marketing tools such as tablecloths, event signage, and promotional giveaway items. You may have noticed that County signage, vehicle decals and uniforms are also being updated.

BRAND UPDATES
Uniform Recycling
If your department is ordering new uniforms or shirts, please recycle the old ones using our County recycling program. Do not donate items that have the County seal to local charitable organizations for resell or reuse. Simply collect your items and complete this online Pick-Up Request Form. The recycling team at Facilities Management will schedule a pickup with you. The shirts and uniforms will be delivered to a local recycling company that converts fabric into new products such as insulation and mattresses.

Toolkit Additions
Our graphic designers have created a variety of new items for the Brand Toolkit. Check out the Templates, where you’ll find handy Canva designs for reports, name tent cards, posters, organizational charts and more. There also are templates for labels, certificates, and many other materials available to you.
Our Photo Library got a boost this spring with lots of new images of our employees working to serve the residents of Maricopa County. You’ll also find photo releases, including a new Spanish language photo release, in the Photo Library. Don’t forget that photo releases should be used for all County photography.

And the Winner Is…
The new County brand is now an award-winning brand! Maricopa County received a 2023 Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo) in the Civic Education and Public Information category for the new branding and rollout. Not only is the new look transforming the identity of our organization, it’s turning heads, too!
Congratulations to all the departments who were recognized in this year’s NACo awards – that’s great brand-building!
