10 WAYS TO SUPPORT THE COUNTY'S NEW BRAND
Good afternoon,
I want to thank all of you for your quick embrace of the new county brand and your attention to detail as your department transitions from the old look to the new look.
We've received helpful feedback from many of you, especially concerning the email signature generator. I'll be sending a separate email addressing common questions and providing some tips and tricks for getting your signature block set up. Look for that in the coming week. And don't forget about the brand toolkit which contains department logos and templates for different types of communication.
In the meantime, I wanted to pass along some actionable ways you and your staff can implement and promote the new countywide identity. So with all respect to David Letterman, here's our Top 10 ways to support the county's new brand.

Update Your Email Signature
Access the signature generator tool at signature.maricopa.gov and consult your leadership for any special guidance on optional fields so your entire department is aligned. Remember - quotes, motivational sayings or any additional image or modification to the auto-generated signature template are not permitted.

|
Update Your Badge
Since we use these badges every day for access, it's a great way to showcase the new brand around your work area. Check with your leadership to find out the dates that you'll be scheduled to go to the 301 W. Jefferson Office of Security Services to swap out your badge.

Check Your Department Webpages
All pages and elements of the website should have the new look. If you notice something that doesn’t look right, share it with your department PIO, your web team, or the Office of Communications at caomedia@maricopa.gov.
|
 |
|
Make A Priority List
Work with your team to identify the most popular, public-facing materials (digital and physical) and place them at the top of the priority list for applying the new identity going forward. Letterhead and PowerPoint templates are available for use right now!
|
 |
|
Budget Now
Make a list and plan to replace apparel, uniforms and giveaways. With fiscal responsibility, the brand implementation timeline and remaining lifespan in mind, start budgeting now for any items that will need to be updated with the new identity. This may include vehicle decals, uniforms, clipboards, pens, notepads, signage, etc.

Ask Questions
If you have questions about the brand guidelines, logo vs. seal use, the color palette, or anything else, email caomedia@maricopa.gov and we’ll get back to you.

|
Get Social
If your department has an official Maricopa County branded social media account, follow them along with the official county accounts (@maricopacounty). Share their posts and spread the word to your network about the great work happening here!

Share This Video And The "Why" Behind Our Brand
Research we conducted both pre- and post-COVID shows people confuse us with other governments, or don’t really understand what we do. The new brand is meant to help residents more quickly make the connection to all the programs and services available through their county government. This video is a great way to introduce (or reintroduce) Maricopa County to friends, family members, neighbors, professional contacts, community partners, or potential recruits.

Tell People About Your Good Work
No matter your position or title, you are part of what makes Maricopa County great, so tell people about it! Your personal stories of service are one of the most valuable ways we can build trust and awareness of what we do so that it’s easier for residents to do business with us or get the help they need when they need it.

Get Some Swag 😊
The Office of Communications provided branded materials to all departments. These include badge holders, stickers, and pop sockets for cell phones. If you're interested in having branded items for use at work or at home, get in touch with your department PIO or leadership team.
