Dear oneMCSO,

It’s with great sadness that we inform you that on January 2, 2022, Officer Jason Cude A8688 passed away.

About Jason

Officer Cude

Officer Cude was a 17-year employee who graduated the Detention Officer Basic Academy Class #806 on 05/24/2004. He was assigned to the Madison Street Jail where he worked until it was closed in 2005 and became the 4th Ave Jail. Officer Cude was assigned to 4th Ave Jail from 04/15/2005 until 02/16/2009 and then again from 02/08/2010 until present, with short visit at the Towers Jail.

Those that knew Officer Cude will remember the officer that always came into work with a positive and professional attitude that made everyone he met feel welcome. Officer Cude would report for duty with that attitude and when one would get to work with him his positive attitude and outlook would make everyone’s day brighter. When he greeted you with his customary “Hey Brotha, what can I do for you brotha” one could not help but smile. His willingness to step up and help in any capacity help build up the team he was a part of.

His love and devotion to his career and his partners was matched only by the love and devotion he had for his two grandsons. He proudly instilled in them an appreciation for Law Enforcement. He loved coaching them in sports and bragging about them all day long. When he took a break from talking about his grandkids, Officer Cude could always be counted on to remind you when, his Dallas Cowboys won or how they would be able to turn it around the next week if they lost. He enjoyed organizing fantasy football and helped build camaraderie with his peers outside of work.

He treated his co-workers like family, he saw the office as extended family and was a man who would give you the shirt off his back.

The office would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and co-workers of Officer Cude.

Services are private for the family. The family is considering a celebration of life at a future date and time.
