Hello colleagues,
I know public service is hard. For many of you, this past year or so has been the most challenging of your career. I believe hard work—whether in public service or the private sector—should be compensated fairly.
Today, the Board of Supervisors approved a Pay-for-Performance plan that rewards successful employees with larger paychecks in fiscal year 2022.
This plan, coupled with the one-time pay boost approved by the Board of Supervisors in March, shows our commitment to paying employees a good wage. Combined with the generous benefits we offer and the flexible, Return to the Workplace initiative that will be fully implemented by August 1, I am hopeful we are making Maricopa County the government that dedicated public servants want to work for.
Your supervisor will discuss specifics of this plan with you. For now, I just want to say thank you for your work on behalf of our residents. I’ll keep doing what I can to make sure we are the best employer we can be.
