Construction Zone Tragedy
There are real people behind the orange cones. That is the message MCDOT is sending to the community after one of its workers was killed in a hit and run collision in Glendale. 37-year-old Gustav Danielson was working to remove traffic barricades when he was hit by a truck earlier this month. Our deepest condolences go out to our colleagues at MCDOT. We hope this tragedy serves as a reminder to everyone to take care and slow down in work and construction zones.

The 411 on 301 Construction
The County has spent $1.4 billion since 2000 on new construction, major upgrades, and investments in infrastructure or technology. Now, the
Administration Building at 301 W. Jefferson St. is getting a facelift.
The second floor has been remodeled into a "One-Stop Shop" and consolidates all the County's permitting agencies into a centralized location. Planning and Development just moved in. The entire renovation is expected to be completed in the summer of 2022.

Way To Go, Lester!
Lester Godsey, OET's Chief Information Security Officer, was recognized as a "Top 25 Doer and Dreamer" by GovTech Magazine. This was no small feat considering he played a central role in protecting the integrity of three elections for the County in 2020!
Building trust is at the heart of Lester's cybersecurity approach. He strives for consensus and building relationships across the County. Congrats, Lester!
