Hello colleagues,

Chances are, sometime in the past six months, you’ve wondered whether you might have COVID-19.  Maybe you’ve been sick with COVID-like symptoms, or maybe you never showed symptoms but wondered if you were among the estimated 40% of cases who are asymptomatic.

More testing sites are becoming available around the Valley, but you may still have reservations about getting tested after seeing long lines or hearing about delays in getting back test results.

Starting this week, your County family is providing another option.

To exclusively serve County employees, their immediate families, and those who live in their household, County HR has established six, employee-dedicated mobile COVID-19 testing sites throughout the County. Testing will begin this Thursday, July 23rd at 7 a.m.

BENEFITS

  • There is no cost and no insurance required. All you have to do is pick a location and register.
  • Tests will be administered by a health care professional with guaranteed results through a confidential portal within 36 hours.
  • You don’t need to have symptoms to get a test, and those without symptoms will NOT be required to quarantine following their appointment.

Test sites, except for the walk-up site downtown, will be open Sunday-Friday from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. starting this Thursday.  You’ll need to work with your supervisor to use your lunch period, breaks, paid leave or flex time to cover any time away from work.

We want to make it easier for you to know for sure whether you or someone in your household has COVID-19.  This knowledge will help you make informed decisions and will help Public Health know more about the spread of the virus.

Employee-dedicated sites are one option for testing, but they are not the only option.  We encourage you to visit Arizona Department of Health Services’ website for an up-to-date list of community testing sites.

Be well,

Joy
