Maricopa County, Arizona Office of Procurement Services Regulatory Process Update
Maricopa County, Arizona sent this bulletin at 08/07/2014 11:20 AM MSTThe Maricopa County Board of Supervisors revised the Enhanced Regulatory Outreach Program (EROP) policy to include the Office of Procurement Services. Any party that has expressed interest in receiving updates relating to the Maricopa County Procurement Code has been added as a subscriber to receive public notices.
The purpose of EROP is to provide a platform that allows stakeholders multiple opportunities for input regarding the adoption and amendment of regulatory requirements that fall under the purview of Maricopa County. The EROP website serves as a framework where all departments must conduct their rulemaking and ordinance adoption activities so citizens can obtain this information from one spot. Most importantly, all stakeholder input is collected and presented to the Board of Supervisors before a vote can take place.
At this time, Procurement Services does not have any items going through the process. But, we hope you will take an opportunity to visit the site and click on the “Follow the Regulatory Process” icon (as shown below) at: http://www.maricopa.gov/regulations/ops/ to become familiar with it. As you will see, individuals can comment on any item, at any time in the EROP process.
A link to the new EROP policy and process flowchart is provided here: http://www.maricopa.gov/regulations/pdf/EROPPolicy0714Finalflowcharts.pdf. Procurement Services has a seven step process that is easy to follow. The EROP flowcharts indicate that stakeholders will receive notification about proposed amendments weeks before public workshops are held and before an amendment is approved by the Board of Supervisors.
