On 1/24/2014 10:00:00 AM: This is an easy, 1/2 mile walk on a flat trail to one of the largest and most concentrated collections of Hohokam and Yavapai petroglyphs in the Valley. The hike will discuss early native peoples of the area and the possible meanings behind the ancient rock art symbols they left behind. Please meet at Area 4. No dogs, please.

This great famile event, held in the Nature Center classroom, will give you a new appreciation for the desert and its inhabitants, both past and present.

On 1/18/2014 7:30:00 PM: Experience White Tank in a different light - moonlight! Join park staff and volunteers on this 2 mile hike to watch the moon rise and experience the desert at might. Bring your flashlight, your scorpion light, and wear warm clothes and comfortable footwear. No dogs, please. This hike is limited to those 16 and older. Please meet at Area 4.

On 12/28/2013 8:00:00 AM: Mark your calendars to come and see all that White Tank Park and the White Tank Library has to offer! We are planning a new family event this year that we know you will enjoy. Live animals, survival tips from the Desert Search Unit Posse, yoga, Archery 101, and horseback riding specials. We will have 3 guided hikes: easy, moderate and a more challenging hike to the Ford Canyon Dam. There are kids activities as well including the Arizona Balloon Lady doing twisted balloons in the Library! Food vendors will be on site or bring a picnic lunch and stay for the whole day. Here is a schedule of events: DSU Posse-compass, desert survival 8-4pm Archery 101 1pm, 2:30pm Wildlife World Zoo 12-4pm Trek Bike of West Phoenix 8-4PM Ford trail guided hike to dam 9am Waterfall hike (easy) 10AM Pond hike from nature center noon KIDS ACTIVITIES (Friends of Library) 8-4pm Friends of White Tank Park 8-4pm Liberty Wildlife yoga 10:15-11:15am AZ Balloon lady 10-4pm "Books and Brushes" 2-4pm

On 12/16/2013 6:15:00 PM: Gather outside the front entrance of the Library and Park building to enjoy cooler weather, hot cocoa, and festive music. Students from the Mountain View Elementary School will lead the audience in singing seasonal songs. Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided.
