Homeschool Week at SEA LIFE

Discover something amazing at SEA LIFE Arizona during Homeschool Week! Enjoy an interactive experience including educational lessons and hands-on projects, designed specifically for homeschool students.

This November learn intriguing facts about one of the ocean's most beloved creatures, the sea stars,. Receive a guided hands-on lesson with living sea stars in the classroom and learn about how their anatomy allos them to thrive in seas aroung the world.

When:  November 12th - 14th timeslots between 9:00am & 12:00pm

Where:  5000 S. Arizona Mills Circle, Suite 145, Tempe

Limited space is available. Tickets must be pre-booked. The selected timeslots represents the time of your 30 minute lesson. We Make History

Join the joyful family of We Make History at the13th Annual Victorian Christmas Ball as we celebrate this wonderful season in the old Victorian style with dancing, gifts, caroling and plenty of good cheer for all!

When: Saturday, November 30th a social time shall commence at 6:00pm and the Ball at 7:00pm. Festivities shall last until midnight.

Eta Sigma Alpha Homeschool Honor Society

Did you know that if your son or daughter scored 180 or higher on the PSAT, 1800 or highter on the SAT,or 90% or higher on a national standardized achievement test, that they are qualified to be in the Eta SIgma Alpha National Honor Society? ESA is a homeschool honor society that meets one Saturday a month for a couple of hours at Covenant Homeschool Resource Center. Covenant Homeschool Resource Center

Covenant Homeschool Resource Center is a resource for homeschoolers, they are a local Arizona 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Your donations bless other families, and you can also receive a tax deduction for them. Covenant staff and volunteers are ready and willing to answer any questions. Contact staff at 602-277-3497 or info@chsrc.org. They are open Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Resources Available:

  • On-site bookstore has a variety of popular used curriculum and books, many brands of new curriculums, science supplies, math manipulatives and surprising extras.
  • Classes for homeschool students and workshops of interest for the whole family.
  • If interested in standardized testing, they offer both the ITBS - Iowa Test of Basic Skills and the PSAT - Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test.
  • Photo ID's for both parents and students on the premises.

Donations and Volunteering

If you are ready to say "goodbye" to some of your homeschool curriculum, bring it to Covenant Homeschool Resource Center, they accept most education materials. Unfortunately, they are not allowed to re-sell K-12 Virtual Academy books or single-user educational software. All donations are tax-deductible and you will receive a coupon to be used towards your next purchase of used books at Covenant.

Arizona Science Center offers a variety of homeschool opportunities for students from September through May. Homeschool classes are held onsite at Arizona Science Center and offsite at Usery Mountain Park.

National History Bee

The National History Bee is an exciting new history competition for school children across America. Participating students progress from the school level to the regional level and finally to the National Championship until one student is crowned the National History Bee Champiion.

Homeschools are encouraged to enroll in the 2013-2014 National History Bee. The academic competition for elementary and middle school grades tests knowledge of a wide range of historidcal topics.
