My Prediction Market Policy is Making National Headlines
I was recently interviewed by CNBC regarding the prediction market policy I sponsored and that my Board colleagues and I passed this summer. This innovative and important policy is rooted in my desire for trust and transparency in the work we do at Maricopa County. I hope other county leaders will see this interview and find ways to implement similar policies ahead of the November 2026 General Election.

Traveling Across the Pond to Promote Maricopa County's Strong Business Ties
I joined local business leaders and elected officials on a Greater Phoenix Economic Council-hosted trip to London, England. We had important discussions regarding trade, economic development, and the ways in which Maricopa County continues to be a global player in some of the world's most competitive industries.
Supporting Arizona's Cactus League
I often say sports are an economic driver, and this season the Arizona Cactus League knocked that phrase out of the park! The 2026 season boasted more than 1.7 million attendees, equaling more than $806 million in economic impact! Spring training is a point of pride for Maricopa County and a massive boost for our economy. I'm especially proud that District 2 is home to roughly half of all Cactus League stadiums. Congratulations on a fantastic 2026 season!!
Hispanic Heritage Month at Maricopa County
September 15 marked the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. I am proud to be the first Latino Republican Chair of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. My mother was born in Honduras and proudly immigrated to the U.S. as a young woman. I am grateful for my Hispanic heritage and blessed to be an American. I'm also proud that my Deputy Chief of Staff, Michele, and External Affairs Advisor, Taylor, both share Mexican heritage.
Remembering the Life and Legacy of the Late U.S. Senator Jon Kyl
This past month, we lost an Arizona great. Former U.S. Senator Jon Kyl was among the greatest leaders our state and nation have known. He was a faithful constructionist who defended conservative principles throughout his career. He will be greatly missed. You can read my full statement by clicking the picture below.
Honoring the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001
This month marked 25 years since the unimaginable horrors of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It is imperative that we never forget this tragedy, but that we also remember the unity we felt in the days that followed. I encourage you to honor the lives lost through acts of kindness to your fellow man.

Crying Foul on New Scottsdale Reality Show
Paramount+ and Kim Kardashian are filming a reality TV show about the mothers of youth baseball players in Scottsdale. I think shows like this disparage our great youth sports and I worry about the impacts on the children featured in it. My recent tweet about it was picked up by Axios and Cronkite News.

Calling Out Conspiracy Theorists
I was recently quoted in The Arizona Republic for standing up to an elected official who decided to spew 9/11 denialism on the day of the 25th anniversary. I will always stand up for what is right. Click the picture to read the story.
