Maricopa County Completes Successful 2026 Primary Election
I am pleased to share that my fellow Board members and I have officially canvassed the results of the 2026 Primary Election, marking the successful conclusion of a well-administered election in Maricopa County.
I am proud to say this election was conducted securely, efficiently, and successfully from start to finish- a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork of the many individuals who worked tirelessly to serve our voters.
More than 677,000 ballots were processed and tabulated during the election, representing nearly 27% of Maricopa County's approximately 2.5 million registered voters who were eligible to participate.
I want to thank the Elections Department, the Recorder's Office, our poll workers, temporary election staff, and everyone who played a role in ensuring voters had a smooth and secure voting experience. Your professionalism and commitment made this election a success.
This election also marked the successful implementation of a new state law designed to improve the ballot processing system. The law gave voters who returned an early ballot in person the option to verify their identity at the voting location with a valid ID. Nearly 23,000 voters chose to use this new process, allowing their ballots to be processed more efficiently and included in the Election Night tally.
I personally visited one of the county’s 236 voting centers and was impressed by how efficiently everything was operating. Seeing our election workers in action reinforced the tremendous effort that goes into conducting a successful election.
Administering an election of this size is no small undertaking, and every person involved should be proud of what was accomplished. Thank you to everyone who helped deliver an election that was secure, well-managed, and efficiently executed for the voters of Maricopa County.
